God is so good. Sometimes His goodness is experiencing His restraint of the full effects of human sinfulness. This goodness is experienced by both believers and those who do not believe. It is a goodness not much thought about. After all, how do you experience the goodness of a dam holding back a cascade of water from sending a tsunami of water flooding downstream destroying the communities below? The dam is good! We all agree. It’s restraining effects are important.

But frankly, we take it for granted. What happens when the dam breaks, or God stops withholding His restraint on human sinfulness? This Sunday, we find out when the wrath of God is unleashed and sin cascades. Tremble people of God! Realize that North America and Europe stand as witnesses to the full sexual confusion that come when God no longer restrains our most sordid longings.
