This week, we start our series in the book of Hebrews. The author wants us to know that something new is here, that Jesus has arrived, and it is more than just a fulfillment of Old Testament promises – He was there at the beginning. Jesus, the Word of God, has now fully revealed Himself in the same radiant glory as the Father. Today, we look at the importance of the backstory, and how the backstory teaches us how to read the new story, which is the story of Jesus’ Kingdom that was inaugurated when He was born, crucified, and rose to the right hand of the Father
