“Soli Deo Gloria”—to the glory of God alone! All glory goes to our Father. He is running the show! This is our Father’s world; it is NOT ours. If all glory belongs to God, then NONE of it belongs to us. It is not soli “meo” gloria – my glory. It is soli “deo” gloria – God’s glory! This is not an abstract belief; it is the bedrock of our faith. This defines how we live! Today’s teaching also prepares us for the advent season, as we see how the glory of God was on display in Jesus Christ.
