We worship a God who makes promises – promises that are eternal, promises that are kept. Throughout the Bible, many of these promises also carried with them signs, which were visual representations of promises and spiritual things that God is doing in the heart of the believer. Old Testament prophets pointed towards the day when God would perform a new type of circumcision – a circumcision of the heart that would remove the hardness of our hearts so that we are able to love in the ways of God’s perfect and pure love. Today, as we partake in the sign of Lord’s Supper, we take a look at the sign of baptism and what that means to the believer.
