Today, we consider what it means to worship God with songs. Why do we use songs in worship? Wouldn’t it be faster to simply read the words? Why does music get added to the words? And what’s the appropriate bodily motions as we worship? Does the Bible even address the topic of singing in worship to God? Is it ok to clap, raise hands, cry, smile, sway, tap one’s toe, or merely sing without bodily expressions? And what do we expect out of the music as we come to worship God? These are very important questions that will be at the center of how FRC attendees want “their worship” to be. However, the single, most important question is, “What does God expect from our singing?” If He is the audience for our songs, what do we bring to Him?
