Today, we return to the worship series God’s Devil: How Satan’s Rebellion Serves God’s Purposes. As we left off in March, we first studied Ezekiel’s and Isaiah’s accounts of Lucifer’s fall. Next, we navigated the temptation of Adam and Eve. Then, we explored Satan tempting Jesus. (You can revisit any of these previous messages on the website under the “Messages” tab for the dates 3/1/2020, 3/8/2020, & 3/15/2020.)
As we pick up where we left off, we celebrate that God uses Satan. While it may seem awkward to celebrate something like this, keep in mind that the devil is just as much God’s servant in his rebellion as he was in his former obedience. Satan cannot act without God’s permission. He must serve the purposes of our God! This morning, we will consider 4 ways that Satan serves God’s purposes: judge the unconverted, refine the obedient, discipline the disobedient, & purify God’s chosen.
Satan has frightful powers, but cannot wreak havoc on people on his own. His attacks must be permitted by God, and will serve God’s purposes.
Please join us for the message today, as we learn more about how Satan’s rebellion serves God’s purposes!
