The world offers a lot of comforts! At times, it can feel like what God offers us is not always comfortable. But consider that the only true comfort in this world is found in the one and only Savior of the world, Christ Jesus. Jesus defines comfort differently than the world. If we are to have a hope and a future outside of this world, we also need to look at comfort differently than the world does. Today, we conclude the story of Stephen (from Acts 7), who gave up his own comforts for the comfort of his Lord and Savior and the early church, who through their newfound discomfort, launched the Gospel outside of the walls of Jerusalem.
