We live in a society where most things we want are readily available at the touch of a finger on a screen or a phone. Even the things we cannot afford are obtainable through the credit services that bombard our mailboxes and our screens, even though we know exactly where to go when there is something we can’t afford and want it now. We live in a society where if it isn’t handed to us, we can take things into our own hands and make it happen through our own labor and efforts. But there is danger when we take this mindset into our faith. The God we serve is the one that knows what is best and makes things happen at the proper times and places according to His perfect will. As a Christian, when we try to take matters into our own hands, we leave God’s rest. Today, we will look at how when we try to take matters into our own hands, that contradicts the faith and the things we confess with our mouths to be true.
