If someone asked you, “What does it mean to be a Christian,” how would you answer them? In Matthew 5, Jesus explained the answer to this important question. He called His followers “salt of the earth” and the “light of the world.” As such, they must preserve goodness, influence others, and reveal God’s glory. If believers lose their influence or hide their light, they will not be effective in fulfilling God’s purposes. All the more reason to be salty for the Lord and shine His light into the world!
